Boston Marathon - Volunteers needed

The Boston Marathon is in need of an additional 80 – 100 volunteers to provide communications for the 2022 Boston Marathon.  It’s a great opportunity to provide a public service, meet many fellow hams, and just have fun enjoying amateur radio during this event.  It’s a great way for new hams and old hams alike to show what amateur radio is all about.

MS Challenge Walk

Call for volunteers.  Operators will use HTs to provide communication over the BARC repeater with event coordinators at rest stops along the route. Different routes each day.

Please do not use the BARC repeater for routine traffic on Fridada the 9th and Sunday the 11th to reserve it for the Walk organizers.

To volunteer, contact John.n1ypn@gmail.com

Swim For Life - Provincetown

BARC would like to support this event in Provincetown.  See https://www.swim4life.org/swim-for-life .

We need to know in the next week if we have enough members to support it. If you are interested, please contact Jon N1ILZ (n1ilz@arrl.net).

Walk to End Alzheimers - Hyannis

The organizers would like BARC to provide communications support for this event. It's similar to the walk on the canal we supported in May, but run by a different organization and about 3 times the size.

We realize that there the Cape Cod Marathon is the same weekend. We need at least 10 volunteerts to be useful.

Please contact Mark WA1EXA  rxmgr1@gmail.com if you are able to volunteer.
