Winter Field Day 2025
Winter Field Day is our opportunity to test our skill at setting up and operating in less than ideal conditions. We operated 3I with two antennas. We used our tower trailer to erect a tri-band beam antenna for 10, 15, and 20 meter operation. Due to windy conditions, the antenna was only raised 20 feet. We also stung a 140’ end fed antenna between a couple of light poles. We used that antenna for 40 and 80 meter operation. We learned that it is very hard to put stakes in frozen ground. We had several visitors who helped us operate. One of our stations was multi mode which allowed us to make 2 meter simplex contacts and to send and receive winlink messages. We were able to make contacts with 46 states and some Canadian provinces. We made contacts using CW, SSB, and PSK31.See the results below.A good time was had by all. See you next year!
