On January 18, 1903, young inventor Guglielmo Marconi made communication history by sending the first public transatlantic wireless message from his station on the South Wellfleet bluffs to Poldhu, Great Britain. The KM1CC Marconi Cape Cod Radio Club operators will talk to hams around the world on January 18-19, 2019 beginning at 1000 hours Eastern Time (1500 Hours G.M.T.).

All hams are invited to a meet and greet with Marconi’s daughter, Princess Elettra Marconi at Cape Cod National Seashore. The plan is for hams to arrive about 10 am and gather to stand along the entrance walkway when the Princess arrives about 10:30 am (or indoors if the weather is bad).
What is The New England Amateur Radio Festival (NEAR-Fest)?
The NEAR-Fest is an international event run by and for all radio hobbyists and enthusiasts, including “hams”, short-wave listeners, scanner buffs, vintage/antique radio fans, etc. NEAR-Fest is held twice annually, spring and fall, rain or shine, at the Deerfield Fairgrounds, Deerfield NH beginning on Friday at 0900 and ending Saturday at 1500 hours.

The one-loop course begins and ends at the Village Green in Falmouth center. The first part is easy, the latter is a test. The people who do well on this course follow the following formula: go out easy, take plenty of fluids, and save energy for the hills. Although the course is not closed to traffic, it is run on secondary roads and monitored by the police and numerous volunteers.
BARC will have a radio demonstration and information booth at the Harwich Cranberry Festival , Sep 16,17.We need members to man the booth. There are two time Satv 9 am to 12:30 and 12:30 to 8:00.Pm Sat and Sun 9:00 am to 12:30.
